Aminu Mohammed, a final-year student at the Federal University in Dutse, Jigawa State, was arrested by security officers for allegedly criticizing the first lady, Aisha Buhari. The Nigerian police have now brought him to court.

Originally, the police told Mr. Mohammed’s family that he would be arraigned on Tuesday. However, the arraignment was moved to Wednesday because the judge was sick.

It was said that the police brought the final-year student to FCT High Court No. 14 later on Tuesday, and the judge told the police to keep him in Suleja Prison.

Shehu Baba-Azare, who is his uncle, says that the police didn’t tell the family about the arraignment.

“It must be a secret hearing, since they didn’t tell us about it. We are very worried about what’s going on with him. “His final exam will be on December 5,” said Mr. Baba-Azare.

Newspeople also say that Mr. Mohammed was picked up by police in plain clothes a few days ago because he wrote something on Twitter criticizing the first lady.

Mr. Aminu and Zainab Kazeem, who used to work as a social media assistant for the first lady, are said to have been beaten up because they leaked secrets about the first lady.

It is said that the president’s wife broke her leg when she tried to help the security agents beat up the two.

Mrs. Kazeem was freed, but she was told not to talk about what happened to her to anyone. Mr. Mohammed, on the other hand, stayed in police custody until his secret arraignment on Tuesday.

Their arrest and torture have made people all over the country angry, and many people have accused Mrs. Buhari of abusing her position.
