Following the dismissal of Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ defamation lawsuit against Kennedy Agyapong, the former president of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi, criticized the investigative journalist.

Nyantakyi further referred to Anas as a crook and “worse than the devil,” saying that the court had stripped him naked.

It will be recalled that Nyantakyi was allegedly caught accepting cash gifts and buying influence in Anas’ “Number 12” exposé in 2018.

He was forced to resign as GFA President as a result, and he also lost his roles as a member of the FIFA Council and the first vice president of CAF.

Following the exposé, FIFA punished Nyantakyi with a lifetime ban and a fine of 500,000 Swiss Francs.

Additionally, he was accused of conspiring to commit fraud and of corrupting a public official, but later released on bail with some sureties.

Nyantakyi’s reputation has been harmed, even though his lifetime ban was later reduced to 15 years as a result of an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) three years ago.

In response to Anas’ unsuccessful lawsuit, the former GFA boss gave a harsh evaluation of the undercover journalist’s efforts.

“The court has stripped him naked. He has been disgraced. He claims to be an angel but the court has shown that he is worse than the devil,” Nyantakyi said on Oman FM.

“I will take no further action but his story is everywhere. He is a bad person and now he has been exposed. A lot of people know him as a crook.”

On Wednesday, Kennedy Agyapong was awarded damages of GHc50,000 after winning his longstanding legal battle against undercover journalist Anas.
