Bobby Caldwell, born on August 15, 1951, in Manhattan, New York, was raised in a musical family with his father being a prominent musician and bandleader. Caldwell showed an early interest in music, and by the age of 12, he was already performing with his father’s band. He soon learned to play several instruments, including drums, guitar, and piano and began writing his own music.

Moving to Los Angeles in the 1970s, Caldwell’s career as a musician began in earnest, performing with various bands. In 1978, he released his first album, “What You Won’t Do for Love,” which included the hit single of the same name. The song became a major success, reaching the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning Caldwell a loyal following.

Over the years, Caldwell continued to release music and tour, having a total of 18 studio albums, including “Heart of Mine,” “Carry On,” and “Cat in the Hat.” He also worked as a songwriter and producer for other artists, including Chicago, Neil Diamond, and Peter Cetera.

Caldwell married his wife, Christine, in 1994. The couple met when he was performing at a music festival in Germany, and they soon fell in love. They are blessed with two children namely Brenna (daughter) and Jesse (son). Brenna is also a musician, and she has released several albums of her own. Jesse, meanwhile, has pursued a career in acting and has appeared in several films and television shows.
