Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has won in 31 of the state’s 33 local government areas.
On Saturday, the election for governor took place in all 33 local government areas of the state.
Nigeria’s LGAs are reporting the final results of the 2023 governorship election [LIVE].
In the race, there were three major candidates.
They were Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Makinde, Senator Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Accord candidate Adebayo Adelabu.
The results also show that Senator Teslim Folarin, who ran for the All Progressives Congress (APC), only won in two (2) local government areas.
With this new information, it seems likely that INEC will soon name Makinde the winner of the race.
If Makinde is chosen as the winner, he will be the second governor of the state to serve for two years.
