Eleanor Laing is a British politician who currently serves as the Deputy Speaker of the UK House of Commons.

Eleanor Laing was first elected to Parliament in 1997 as a member of the Conservative Party and has represented the Epping Forest constituency since then.

Laing has held several parliamentary roles throughout her career, including serving as a government whip, shadow minister, and chair of the Scottish Affairs Select Committee.

In November 2019, she was elected as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, becoming the first woman to hold the role in its 700-year history.
