The Ghana Football Association has refuted claims that it received $800,000 from the Ministry of Finance to help pay for friendlies against Brazil and Nicaragua.
Collins Atta Poku and Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo, two Ghanaian journalists, said on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, that Ken Ofori-Atta, the minister of finance, had paid the Ghana Football Association (GFA) $800,000 to cover match expenses during the September 2022 international break.
The GFA responded to this report by denying ever receiving such funds from the Ministry of Finance and advising the general public to ignore it.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) claims that this article is simply an intentional ploy to “pit the people against the Ghana Football Association and to drag our name in the mud.”
