Ghana Premier League returns this weekend after court throws out injunction

An Accra High Court dismissed an injunction on the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League secured by demoted side AshantiGold SC.

AshantiGold SC dragged the Ghana Football Association to the law court for unlawful demotion from the Ghana Premier League after being found guilty of a match-fixing scandal.

The court on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 threw out the injunction on the Ghanaian top-flight league secured by AshantiGold SC.

Consequently, 2022/23 Ghana Premier League has been suspended by the country’s football governing for almost a month.

The 2022–2023 season of the betPawa Ghana Premier League kicks off this coming weekend with a number of mouthwatering matchups to look forward to.

Accra Hearts of Oak will play host to Bibiani Gold Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, October 29, 2022.

Champions Asante Kotoko will face off against their rivals King Faisal at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Monday, October 31, 2022.

On Monday, October 31, 2022, at three o’clock in the afternoon, the newly promoted Tamale Local Football Club will square off against their city rivals Real Tamale United at the Aliu Mahama stadium. Tamale City Football Club has not yet won a game in the League.

On the other hand, Samartex will be hosting the Accra Great Olympics at Akoon Park on the same day as Medeama SC will be hosting Aduana FC. Both matches will take place on October 30, 2022.
