Harrison Barnes is an American professional basketball player for the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association (NBA).

By Scout.com and the ESPNU 100, Harrison Barnes was ranked as the best player in the class of 2010. Rivals.com ranked him as the second-best player.
Together with his teammate Doug McDermott, Barnes led Ames High School to a 4A state championship in his junior year. His 24 points and 8 rebounds in the championship game capped a 26-0 season for Ames High School.
Ames became the first team in Iowa’s big-school class to go unbeaten in back-to-back seasons when Barnes and McDermott led Ames to a 27-0 season and a second straight Iowa 4A state championship during his senior year. He defeated Southeast Polk with 19 points in the championship game.
He was chosen for the USA Today All-USA First Team after finishing his senior year with averages of 27.1 points, 10.4 rebounds, 4.0 steals, and 4.0 assists.
With 1,787 points, Barnes finished his career at Ames High School as their top scorer all-time. Barnes participated in the 4th annual Boost Mobile Elite 24 Hoops Classic and led Skip to My Lou with 18 points.

Barnes is a Christian. He is a teetotaler as well; he only drank once, following the 2015 NBA Finals victory. [He wed Brittany Johnson on July 29, 2017, at Rosecliff in Newport, Rhode Island.
Barnes’ former high school honoured him on September 15, 2022, by dedicating the gym and basketball court at the new high school in his honour and inducting him into the institution’s Hall of Fame in recognition of his professional accomplishments and contributions to the community.
