Jacqueline Gold Bio

Jacqueline Summers Gold CBE was the executive chairperson of Gold Group International, Ann Summers, and Knickerbox. According to estimations, Gold was the 16th-richest woman in Great Britain. In 2019, the value of gold was estimated by The Sunday Times Rich List to be £470 million.

Gold died on March 16, 2023, following seven years of breast cancer treatment.

Gold was born on July 16, 1960, the daughter of Beryl Hunt and businessman David Gold.

Her father’s publishing business was responsible for the first sex magazines to be sold on British high streets. Because he wanted a boy, David is believed to have grieved when his first wife, Jacqueline, was born.

She was the main interviewee for the second episode of the BBC Radio 4 series The House I Grew Up In, which aired in August 2007 and included her discussing a challenging upbringing.

Her parents were divorced when she was 12 years old.

In May 2007, Gold and her sister Vanessa took part in the charity moonwalk in London’s Hyde Park.

In December 2010, a Gold-hired nanny was charged with attempting to poison the woman with screenwash. Allison Cox, who was watching Gold’s child, was charged with three counts of administering poison with the intent to agitate.

Cox admitted to knowingly administering poison and was given a year in jail in March 2011.

On October 5, 2010, Cox allegedly added screenwash to two bowls of asparagus soup in an effort to humiliate the chef who prepared the meal.

She met Dan Cunningham, a money trader from the City, in 2002 after an earlier failed marriage to a dancer from Ann Summers. Dan was seventeen years her junior.

On New Year’s Day 2006, the couple announced their split after three unsuccessful IVF attempts.
