Jonathan James Irwin, also known as Jonnie Irwin, is a British television presenter, writer, lecturer, and business and property expert. He was born on November 18th, 1973, and grew up on a small farm in the village of Bitteswell, Leicestershire.

Jonnie Irwin Biography

Jonathan James Irwin was born on November 18th, 1973, in Bitteswell, Leicestershire. He attended Lutterworth Grammar School and Community College and holds a degree in estate management from Birmingham City University. Irwin is of Irish descent and grew up on a small farm.

Irwin began his career at Christie & Co, where he was quickly promoted to associate director. Later, he joined Colliers International. In 2004, he was chosen to co-host A Place in the Sun – Home or Away with Jasmine Harman, which has since been broadcasted on various channels across the world, including over 200 episodes filmed in several countries. After 18 years of hosting the show, Irwin was removed due to his cancer diagnosis, which left him feeling low.

In addition to hosting A Place in the Sun, Irwin has appeared on other property shows such as Escape to the Country, To Buy or Not to Buy and Escape to the Perfect Town. He also hosted his own show, Dream Lives for Sale, in 2011, and The Renovation Game on Channel 4.

Irwin has worked as a property consultant for the past decade, advising clients on businesses ranging from small high street gift shops to multimillion-pound corporate hotel packages. He continues to run his own consultancy.

Irwin is a regular columnist for A Place in the Sun magazine and often presents seminars and corporate events. He used to play rugby for Lutterworth RFC and Rugby Lions RFC but had to retire due to a back injury.

In 2016, Irwin married Jessica Holmes, and they have three children. They have lived in several places, including Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire and the Newcastle upon Tyne area. Irwin was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in 2020 and announced it publicly on November 13th, 2022. Despite this, he remains optimistic and intends to spend as much time as possible with his family.
