Putin escalates Ukraine war, threatens nuclear use

The Russian President, Vladimir Putin, on Wednesday, said he was not bluffing when he said he was ready to use nuclear weapons to defend Russia. He said he would use “all available means” to protect Russian territory, after Moscow-held regions of Ukraine suddenly announced annexation referendums. Putin ordered Russia’s first mobilisation since World War II.
