Following the re-introduction of road tolls, the Chairman of the Tollbooth Workers Union has urged the government to immediately refurbish or put in order toll booths that may need some upgrade or refixing.
During an interview on Kumasi-based Abusua 96.5 FM noted that some work needs to be done to make tollbooths comfortable for workers.
“Our members live around where most of these toll booths are. We know the state of the facilities and we always get reports on them. Most are in a bad state but the repair works are just minor fixes”.
“Some will also just need cleaning work, that’s all. All the workers need is the green light to go there and clean and begin work. I must admit some have also been damaged, which will need about a month or so to bring them back to usable levels” he said.

“We are ready to meet the government today if they want us to start. Government is yet to invite us and deliberate any issues with us. We are still integral to the proper functioning of toll booths in this country. We are putting our acts together to meet government”.
