What Is Blasphemy In Christianity?

The Bible is very clear when it comes to insulting God or speaking evil against the spirit of God. The scriptural reference from Luke 12:10 warned those who wish to insult the Holy Spirit and its consequences.

Blasphemy is a dangerous activity and should be avoided at all costs. In which way can you insult or disrespect God?

False Teachings: In Revelation 22: 18, the Bible says I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. Speaking falsely about God or adding what is not true is blasphemy and can lead to severe punishment.
Speaking Against The Holy Spirit: In Matthew 12:22-32, a group of Pharisees attributed the healing power of God through Jesus as the work of demons. Such an act is what we term as speaking against the spirit of God. The Bible says those who do this is blaspheming against the Holy Spirit and are not forgiven.

Consequences of Blasphemy In Christianity
